Objective
The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for identifying, implementing and maintaining EH&S strategies in a FDA regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment; industrial hygiene, safety and chemical regulatory requirements, training on general safety, injury reductions and emissions/waste/water management, including all applicable permitting and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
Provide EH&S guidance and compliance support to site management to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements
Evaluate facility EH&S conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans to address deficiencies in comparison to regulations, industry standards and company policy.
Drive continuous improvement in EH&S performance and programs.
Prepare, update and provide training for Safety and regulatory compliance.
Manage reporting requirements for waste management.
Prepare environmental summaries, training reports, regulatory summaries, filings and reporting requirements.
Regularly perform safety walk-throughs to proactively identify and correct potential safety issues.
Plan, develop and manage site procedures for adhering to local, state and federal EH&S regulations.
Conduct job hazard analysis and/or exposure assessments to identify occupational health hazards, including but not limited to hazardous chemicals and physical agents.
Manage EH&S audits by outside regulatory agencies.
Receives, reviews, and processes all MSDSs and maintains GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals).
Qualifications/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety preferred
10 years' experience in Environmental, Health and Safety
3-5 years of managerial experience
Knowledge of U.S. EH&S regulations and standards and demonstrate effective interaction with regulatory agencies.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to OSHA, IFC, EPA and NFPA regulations and codes
Familiarity with Facilities Engineering & Maintenance and Construction Management
